Perinatal Center of Iowa (PCI) partners with proven laboratories to ensure our patients receive the highest quality, most accurate test results.

In most cases, the testing facility we send your sample to will bill your insurance company directly. Because some health insurance companies require certain types of tests to be sent to specific labs, we recommend you contact your insurance company ahead of time to determine if it has policies about using a particular lab for the test(s) you are having.

For example, PCI routinely sends chorionic villus samples and amniocentesis specimens to Genzyme Genetics in Santa Fe, N.M. If you were scheduled to have one of these tests, it would be important for you to contact your insurance company to see if you needed a referral or additional documentation in order it to cover these types of diagnostic services.
