After our first child passed away from a rare chromosomal abnormality, my husband and I approached our next pregnancy with cautious optimism and much anxiety.

Dr. Mandsager and Dr. Hwang, along with our physician’s assistant, walked with us through the long 40 weeks of our pregnancy. By explaining our prenatal testing options and results—and giving us much needed personal attention—they helped alleviate our concerns and ultimately allowed us to relax (to a certain extent) and enjoy the pregnancy.

In the end, they celebrated with us the arrival of our healthy baby girl, and we walked away feeling as though we’d made some significant personal connections that will bring us back to the Perinatal Center of Iowa with our next pregnancy.
